Fascias and soffits are roofline components fitted where the roof meets the exterior walls. They help protect the rafters and roof space from weather and pests while providing a secure area for the guttering to be attached.
Leaves, moss and other debris are removed using suitable equipment before the gutters and downpipes are checked for clear water flow. Any damage or leaking joints will also be identified.
Gutters should generally be cleaned at least twice a year, ideally during spring and autumn. More frequent cleaning may be required if the property is close to trees, particularly after high winds or heavy leaf fall.
Yes. When water cannot flow through the guttering, it may overflow onto exterior walls or collect around the roofline and foundations. Repeated moisture exposure can contribute to damp, mildew and black mould inside or outside the property.
The cost will depend on the length of guttering or fascia required, the condition of the existing roofline and the selected materials. Aluminium guttering may cost more than PVC, for example. The expected charges will be explained before the agreed work begins.
