Answering your urgent plumbing questions

To help minimise water damage to your property, we advise that you turn off your mains water supply at the stopcock whilst you wait for your emergency plumber to arrive. This is usually located under the kitchen sink.

You should call an emergency plumber when you’re facing a problem that is a risk to your home and safety. Examples of plumbing emergencies include burst pipes, waste backing up into your property, no running water, major leaks, water close to an electrical socket, flooding, or not being able to stop the flow of water.

The cost of an emergency plumber will vary depending on who you call and the extent of the issue. At Pimlico Plumbers, we provide upfront costs and charge in 15-minute increments after the first hour to ensure you only pay for the time needed. Our emergency visits also come at no extra cost, and we do not charge extra for weekend callouts.

Our emergency plumbers aim to be at your property within the hour, no matter the date or time. Our call centre is open 24/7, meaning that we are able to deal with serious and urgent plumbing concerns at any time, minimising the amount of damage, and ultimately, costs.

Whilst waiting for help to arrive, we recommend turning off your water at the mains to stop more flooding. You can usually find the stopcock under your kitchen sink or in a utility cupboard. If safe to do so, we also recommend switching the electrics off at the fuseboard. Move furniture, rugs, electronics and valuables away from the affected area where possible. Use towels, buckets or containers to catch dripping water and help limit water damage.

In most cases, yes. Our plumbers aim to fix the problem in a single visit and carry the parts to do so. However, if a specialist part is needed, they will make your home safe and watertight before returning to finish the job as quickly as possible.
