Don't Flush Success Away!
12/03/2010

It's no joking matter - If Labour wins the election and the 50% top tax rate stays I'm packing up my tools and moving to Spain!
I ask you, what kind of government would smash entrepreneurial spirit like that and expect business people to just sit back and be fleeced on account of their success? It make no sense. And what's more, what ambitious young business person would start up a new enterprise in the full knowledge that as soon as they start showing a bit of promise they are going to be smashed by The Revenue?
I know as a nation we are in a dire financial straits (thanks for that Gordon), but George Osbourne has already gone on record as saying that he'd like to get rid of this nasty disincentive - and I'm sure it'll be some kind of nasty memory by the end of summer.

A Thief Is A Thief- Whatever Way You Want To Dress It Up!
12/03/2010

The four accused in the expenses scandal may have seen the inside of the courtroom but they certainly did not believe that they should have been there. It's disgraceful they think that they have the right to refuse to stand in the dock of the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court. And they all insisted that they should not be tried in the courts as they are protected from criminal prosecution by the right of parliamentary privilege. In my book a thief is a thief what ever way you want to dress it up and should be tried in a criminal court.

Another Deluded Labour Minister!
12/03/2010

What is it with Labour? The economy was shattered under their management, the recovery is still really fragile and they keep insisting that they have everything under control. Now I don't know what their definition of ‘control' is but if Liam Byrne really believes that Britain's £178bn is ‘under control' then he is just as deluded as his superior Mr Brown. He insists that the government could halve the massive budget deficit without anymore tax increases other than the new 50p top rate tax and 1p increase in National Insurance. And granted this may be possible but not when Labour are adamant on not cutting spending. I just cannot believe that Labour will not increase taxes over the next four years, especially when they have no clear or credible plan on how to reduce Britain's debt. And with the budget planned for the 24th of March it is expected that the general election will take place on 6th May. This means that we have 55 days left in this desperate situation before the public can vote for change.

MPs Finally See The Inside Of A Courtroom... Pity None Will Ever Hear A Cell Door Slam Shut!
11/03/2010

I'm glad to see that four of the worst offenders in the MPs' expense scandal are finally seeing the inside of a court room today. Sadly I'm still not confident that any of them will ever experience the sound of a cell closing with them inside.... but I live in hope. And wait, it's not all bad news on that front, as I also see today that the police are investigating yet another swindler of the public purse. Just when I thought they had their 4 scape goats, and the rest would get away scot free, Labour's Harry Cohen - who double dipped to the tune of more than £65,000 on his second home - gets some attention from investigating officers.

The Only Thing He Has The Courage To Do Is Lie Through His Teeth!
11/03/2010

Gordon Brown seems to think that only he has the courage to steer us through the fragile economy. Well I'm afraid this couldn't be further from the truth, the only thing he has the courage to do is lie through his teeth and to fleece the tax payer out of thousands. He praised himself for saving the world economy from depression but seeing as Britain was the last major country to officially emerge from recession (although to my mind the jury's still out on this claim), I don't think that this is something that he should be bragging about. Describing himself as ‘strong-willed', ‘determined' and the only person with enough ‘courage' to run this country shows what a deluded high opinion he has of himself. The last 18 months has proven that he is not up to the job. I can't believe that he still thinks he is entitled to be our Prime Minister.
