Charlie Pipes Up

  • Ken Livingstone returns - Surely two doses of the man in the shabby raincoat are enough!
  • Long Lane Charity Golf next week - The aim is to replace their clapped out van!
  • Cracking down on companies paying in cash under the table would be a bloody good start!
Pimlico Engineer- Going Beyond His Call Of Duty!
2/09/2010

I received a letter this morning from a very nice lady, Tabitha Sudbury, who thought I should know that one of our engineers went beyond his call of duty last night. Unfortunately a cat got run over and one of our top engineers, James Stead, pulled over to help and took it to an emergency vet. The cat has a broken pelvis and is at the Foxgrove veterinary clinic in Beckenham where they are still trying to trace the owner.
Thanks Tabitha for letting all of us at Pimlico know and well done to James Stead. I hope the cat gets better soon and that they manage to find its owner.

Solicitors Give Money Back - Shock!
1/09/2010
I got in this morning to a slightly unusual and unexpected call from my solicitors, Mishcon de Reya, yes, they're giving me back some of our fees [£5,100 in fact] from the past 12 months, so I can donate it to charity!
So firstly let me say thanks very much Mishcon it's a great gesture that will make a huge difference to a very deserving charity.
And since it's the Long Lane Garden Centre's Charity Golf tournament on Friday I've got 5,100 pieces of good news for fellas up there. Having spent some time working with everyone up there last year I know just how much they rely on their mini bus to keep things running, especially when it comes to getting people to and from work every day. So hopefully when they add this five grand to the money raised at the golf on Friday they'll be cruising the streets of Warrington in a stylish new mini bus very soon.

A Judge On The BBC's Young Plumber Of The Year!
1/09/2010

And talking of my dream show I can now reveal that I am a judge on the BBC's new show The Young Plumber of the Year.
We plan to narrow down the exceptional talent we have in this country to one winner. I've already done some filming with the contestants and there is some stiff competition out there. There will be many more gruelling days filming for the young plumbers and I've got some of my top plumbers coming up with tough tasks for them to complete to separate the wheat from the chaff! Anyway it will be on air soon so look out for it.

Just Recorded A Spot For Wire FM!
31/08/2010

I've just recorded a spot for the Breakfast show on Warrington radio station Wire FM talking about Long Lane Garden Centre's Charity Golf Tournament this coming Friday and how important it is for them to raise enough money to buy a much needed new mini bus. I'm really looking forward to it and I hope the two Pimlico teams we've entered do really well. I won't actually be playing but I'll be giving the after event speech and I'll be working hard at the BBQ at the end of the day.
And I've just been given an update on the auction prizes that seem to be getting better and better. They now include a tour of Goodison Park, a day at the races in Liverpool, a personal trainer, paintball for 10 and a tour of Anfield for 4 people.
See you all on Friday lads!
