Lynn AC Boxing Club

The Pimlico team are pleased to have sponsored the Lynn Athletic Club, whose aim is to offer all boxers a place to train hard, learn the skills and develop themselves as both boxers and individuals.

It’s Britain’s oldest continuing amateur boxing club, founded in 1892 in a café in London’s Borough High Street. Danny Williams, best known as the man who knocked out Mike Tyson in four rounds, is one of the most well-known boxers to emerge from the club. He became British Heavy Weight Champion in 2000 and maintained his title until 2004. He later regained his British title in 2007 and defended it until May 2009.

The Lynn AC boxing club has had many other gifted young boxers pass through its doors and many major professional and ABA boxing titles have been won. The first Lynn alumnus to win a British professional title was Matt Wells, who became the lightweight champion in 1911.

“We have built a strong coaching team at Lynn AC and as anyone that knows anything about boxing knows the boxer is only as good as whoever’s in their corner,” – The Pimlico Team.
