The Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE) was founded in 1906 and is the professional body for the plumbing and heating industry in the UK. The CIPHE is a voluntary register and currently has a membership of around 12,000.
It's main aim is to protect the safety and health of the public and the protection of the environment by raising the standards of the plumbing and heating industry.
To help combat unqualified installers passing themselves off as plumbers and heating engineers the CIPHE vet members to ensure that they are qualified and competent to carry out plumbing and heating work.
Members also have to abide by a code of professional standards and are encouraged to update their skills through continuing professional development.
Pimlico has been registered with the CIPHE for the last 30 years, so you can be sure that our engineers are qualified and experienced to carry out all types of domestic plumbing and heating work safely and to an excellent standard.
Pimlico’s team of Technical Service Managers ensure that our engineers are appropriately qualified and skilled to undertake plumbing and heating work responsibly and effectively.
They may also oversee work to make sure it meets required standards and complies with the necessary regulations.
Our Technical Service Manager, Pat Murphy, deals with the training and continuing professional development of our engineers. This keeps them up to date with the relevant skills and qualifications, new techniques and ensures that they are able to work with and install new products that come onto the market.
