Capital Breakfast Team at Pimlico for Live September Show
5th September 2008

Everyone is invited to Pimlico Plumbers to meet Capital DJ's Johnny Vaughan, Lisa Snowdon and the Breakfast Show Crew when they broadcast their show live from the company's depot.

The special Help a London Child (HALC) benefit edition of the award winning show will hit the airwaves direct from Pimlico on September 19, between 6am and 10am.

Pimlico MD Charlie Mullins, who bid £50,000 to host the show, at a charity auction in aid of HALC, wants the day to be a huge celebration and has issued an open invitation to local people to come and join in the fun.

He said: "We are going to open our doors to everyone. I want to invite the whole family kids, mums and dads and grand parents to come down and enjoy the show and meet Johnny and Lisa."

The day is set to become a huge party with a guest list scattered with soap stars, famous footballers, and 102-year-old Buster Martin, the UK's oldest worker

And because the show's special focus is on London's children, kid's sports teams and school groups are especially welcome to turn up and witness first hand the crazy antics of the Breakfast Show gang. There will also be plenty of caps, T-shirts and other great kids' giveaways up for grabs during the four hour show.

"We are very pleased we managed to put in the winning bid," said Charlie.  "Help a London Child is a great cause and everyone here is delighted that we managed to raise this money for a great charity that gives so much to children in need.

"We like to think of ourselves as being at the heart of the community, and as a London based company it's nice to be able to put something back."

On hearing the news that the Breakfast Team was coming back to Pimlico, Johnny said: "I am overwhelmed that Pimlico have again pulled out all the stops for such a worthy cause.

"We are all looking forward to doing the special show, and I just can't wait to see some of my old friends that I met last time."

Lisa added: "I am really looking forward to coming down, Johnny has told me that it's a real family atmosphere down there, with lots of kids from the local schools turning up and joining in the fun - I can't wait!"

The record bid will help HALC, which has raised more than £20 million over 30 years, continue its work of banishing poverty from the lives of some of London's most underprivileged children.
