Honoured to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at The National Family Business Awards
Monday 17th July 2017
I’m chuffed! What a great honour to hear that I’d won the Lifetime Achievement Award at The National Family Business Awards on Saturday.
It was an absolute shame that due to me being in the US on business (mostly Chicago) I couldn’t be there myself to receive it from my mate Rami Ranger, but in the true family business ethos, and evoking the very essence of these awards stand for, my son Scott, and grandson Ashley, were there to represent myself and PP at what looked like a fantastic evening.
I had reserved two tables for Pimlico staff, and it’s been wonderful to hear that they all enjoyed the night, which is an annual event put on by The Family Business Place.
There were choirs and a three course meal, as well as a brilliant auction - all in the lovely venue at Wembley Stadium
The Family Business place are a team dedicated to promoting and supporting British family firms. With PP being a family business through and through, I have had a lot of involvement with the Family Business Place team over the years, and it is fantastic to see the encouragement they offer to small and large businesses alike.
Being that I’m also committed to seeing the achievements of family businesses grow, I was more than happy to sponsor an award for the evening. I chose The Apprenticeship Champion Award – a cause which will always get my backing.
The much deserved winner was Rooftec of Scotland, hats off to them! My son, and PP’s Operations Director Scott Mullins presented the award, but I would like to personally congratulate this Falkirk firm on this great achievement!
PP also auctioned a two week work experience opportunity in our PR Department, and I’m looking forward to welcoming Archie to the team.
Overall it looked like a brilliant evening, one which I was disappointed to miss, but incredibly honoured to have received one of the most prestigious awards of the evening!
